Important Information Terms & Conditions
How to Book: To book, contact your licensed Travel Agent, visit www.driveaway.co.nz or call DriveAway Holidays. Please note that verbal quotes are valid for 3 days and are in New Zealand Dollars. After 3 days, our system will automatically perform a re-quote at that day’s rates.
Deposit: Not required. Supplier levied deposits may be required and will be advised at time of reservation.
Payment:
- Car Rental – Payment is due the day of confirmation if the car is due to be collected within 7 days. Payment is due within 48 hours if the car is due to be collected between 8-29 days of confirmation. Payment is due within 7 days if the car is due to be collected outside of 30 days of confirmation. If full payment is not received within this time, DriveAway Holidays reserve the right to release the vehicle back to the supplier and to reprice. Any unpaid bookings will be autocancelled 3 days prior to collection.
Travel Agents Note: Payment by credit card is preferred. Alternatively you may remit payment via Money Direct - code DDDANZ or Tias Tips - supplier code DAHNZ. Payment is also acceptable via direct deposit into the DriveAway bank account. ANZ Bank details: Bank -01, Branch – 0102, Account – 084462600 Account Name – DriveAway Holidays.
Invoices: An invoice is sent upon confirmation of your reservation outlining all aspects of products booked. Confirmations are subject to unadvised changes in depot hours, fleet conditions, stopsells and one way hires until full payment has been received.
Travel Documents: Once payment is received, a travel voucher will be issued. For special requests i.e. child seat, ski rack etc and /or specialty vehicles, a travel voucher is issued upon full payment and once confirmation has been received from the supplier. Please note vouchers are accountable documents and serve as exchange vouchers for products you have booked. Non-presentation of your vouchers may result in charges being applied locally. There are some instances however where documentation is not required. This will be advised at time of reservation.
Amendments: No charge, unless applied by the supplier. If an amendment occurs, DriveAway Holidays reserves the right to re-price. All amendments must be made directly with DriveAway Holidays. Conditions apply. In some cases, travel agent charges will also apply.
Reissue Fee: No charge, unless applied by the supplier.
Cancellations: No charge, unless applied by the supplier. In some cases, travel agent charges will also apply.
Frequent Flyer Points: Not applicable on any DriveAway Holidays car rental rates.
Refunds: Under normal conditions, no refund will be made on any part of a package provided and not used; this includes unused car rental days and unused coupons for open dated voucher programs. DriveAway Holidays does not authorise the employees of any supplier to promise refunds to clients.
Travel Insurance: We strongly recommend that you take out suitable travel insurance with maximum rental vehicle excess cover. Alternatively, ask DriveAway Holidays for a DriveAway Excess Refund Cover rate to cover the car excess. Travel Insurance can be arranged through your Travel Agent.
Health and Immigration: Please ensure you comply with all passport, visa and health requirements necessary for the countries you wish to visit. DriveAway Holidays is not responsible for advising on passport, visa or health requirements. Your Travel Agent or doctor will be able to advise you.
CAR RENTAL
^Beat Price Guarantee: The competing quote/ price must be from a New Zealand registered wholesaler for New Zealand residents only. DriveAway Holidays will match or beat any independently verifiable competitor price/quote for the same product. ‘Same product’ is same supplier, same SIPP code (car group), same inclusions, same dates and same pick up and drop off depots.
Latest Deals: DriveAway will always strive to obtain the best possible deal for its customer throughout the year. It is important to keep in contact with us for the most up-to-date offers. Refer to our website www.driveaway.co.nz for the latest deals.
Rates do not include: Fuel, oil, tolls, Airport/City/Ferry/Premium Location Fees where applicable; Insurance excess, Refundable security deposit; Vehicle License fees where applicable, Personal Accident Insurance, Additional and/or Young drivers charge; One way fees where applicable; Local Tax, Airport Fees and/or Administration Recovery Fees on additional charges paid locally.
Vehicle Type: All vehicles are reserved by group. Models shown are examples only and a similar vehicle may be supplied. Specific models and/or literage cannot be guaranteed.
Security Deposit: All car rental companies require a minimum of one internationally recognised credit card (Prestige/Luxury cars require two credit cards) for a security bond. Cash security deposits are possible in some instances but must be requested in advance. Strict conditions apply. Contact DriveAway Holidays for details.
Age Limit: Generally the minimum age is 21 years (30 years for some luxury vehicles) but can vary between car rental company and country. Maximum age limits apply in some countries. A young driver surcharge may apply. Please refer to applicable car rental page for details.
Drivers Qualifications: All drivers must hold a full valid drivers licence with a clean driving record for a minimum of one year. Some countries require a licence to be held for a longer period. A learner or provisional drivers licence is not accepted. An international licence is required for many countries including Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Germany, Greece, Italy, Poland and Spain. Fuel: Rates do not include fuel. Rental cars are supplied with a full tank of petrol on collection (exceptions apply). You are advised to refuel your car prior to return and maintain receipts to avoid refueling charges. Some companies may offer a pre-paid fuel option, which is a predetermined amount regardless of the amount of fuel remaining upon return of your vehicle. If accepted no refund is available.
Insurance Excess: In the event of theft or accidental damage to the vehicle, an excess will apply. Please refer to applicable car rental page for details. Adequate travel insurance is strongly recommended.
Excess Reduction: In some countries it is possible to purchase additional insurance to reduce the excess amount payable. If the additional cover is accepted, charges are non-refundable. Alternatively, ask DriveAway Holidays for a prepaid DriveAway Excess Refund Cover rate to cover the car excess.
Optional Accessories: Child seats, ski racks, snow chains, winter tyres, GPS etc should be requested at time of booking and subject to availability upon arrival. Additional fees apply and are paid locally. Full payment by credit card only is required at time of booking to request accessories.
One Way Rentals: If you return your vehicle to a different country than its origin, you will incur a one way fee. One way fees within the same country may also apply. Charges and conditions vary. Details will be advised at time of reservation. If you vary your drop off point, additional charges may apply.
Geographic Restrictions: It is important to advise your Travel Agent and/or DriveAway Holidays at time of booking if you intend to drive your rental car outside the country of rental as conditions and charges may apply. DriveAway Holidays takes no responsibility for problems occurring as a result of non-advice.
RESPONSIBILITY AND LIABILITY
Responsibility: Vehicle specifications, photographic illustrations, rates, terms and conditions and additional information contained on this website are correct at time of issue but are subject to change and /or variation without notice. Full payment is required to ensure against variation of the rates due to foreign currency fluctuations.
Liability: DriveAway Holidays and its employees and agents, shall not be liable for injury, damage, loss, accident, delay or irregularity, additional expense or liability occasioned to any generality of the foregoing; either due to the act, neglect or otherwise from acts of God, dangerous incidents in the air, land or sea, breakdown in machinery or equipment, force majeure or acts of the defacto, Governments or authorities, wars whether declared or otherwise, riots, strikes, insurrections, theft, pilferage, epidemics, quarantine, medical, custom or other regulations, dissatisfaction with any service provided, and inaccuracy or misdescription contained on the website to which these terms and conditions relate, delays and cancellations or changes in itinerary or schedules or over booking, improper or any act, neglect, default or otherwise of the service providers, their servants or agents or any other person. This agreement is governed in all respects by the law of the state of New South Wales and any legal action arising under this agreement shall be litigated only in the appropriate Court having jurisdiction in that State.
