Motorcycle Rentals

Q: What insurance does my EagleRider motorcycle rental include?

A: All rentals include Collision Damage Waiver (CDW), Third Party Liability and Theft Protection (TP). A excess will apply depending on the motorcycle. A security bond is required on all bikes and varies per location and bike. EagleRider may offer you additional coverage to reduce your excess to nil locally. The following are not covered under insurance:

Q: What license do I need to rent a motorcycle from EagleRider and DriveAway Holidays?

A: To ride a motorcycle in the USA you must hold a full valid Australian/New Zealand motorcycle rider license. In all Australian states this is a Class R license. In New Zealand it is a Class 6 – Motorcycle License.

Q: How old do you have to be to rent from EagleRIder?

A: You must be at least 21 years of age to rent from EagleRider. There is no age limit for passengers, however the passenger must be able to reach the passenger foot pegs or floorboards of the bike.

Q: Can I add additional riders to my rental?

A: Yes, you can add one additional rider at no cost. The additional driver must be 21 years or older and have a valid motorcycle license.

Q: What is your fuel policy?

A: All EagleRider motorcycles are presented with a full tank of fuel at the start of your rental, and should be returned with a full tank of fuel as well. If your motorcycle is returned with less than a full tank of fuel you will incur a refuelling charge.

Q: What equipment does my motorcycle rental include?

A: Included in the price of your EagleRider rental is a DOT half-shell helmet, one cable lock and disk brake lock for added security and peace of mind while travelling.

Complimentary secure luggage storage is offered at all EagleRider locations.

Q. Where can I drive my motorcycle? Are there any restrictions?

A. Motorcycles must be driven on sealed, well-maintained roads only. Any travel on gravel roads, beaches and other non-public roads voids all insurance. Vehicles collected in the USA generally cannot be driven into Mexico without prior authorisation. Conditions apply. Travel into Death Valley is generally not permitted between the months of June to August due to extreme weather conditions. During these months, clients travel at their own risk.

Self-Drive Motorcycle Tours

Q: What is a self-drive tour and what is included?

A: A self-drive tour is a packaged tour which includes your bike rental, hotel accommodations and route suggestions.

Q: What is the difference between a self-drive tour and a bike only rental?

A: With a self-drive tour your bike, hotels and route suggestions are provided by EagleRider. A rental only option just includes the bike so you would need to book accommodation and plan a route.

Q: What are the requirements to participate in a self-drive tour?

A: In order to participate in a EagleRider self-drive tour you must be minimum 21 years of age, hold a full unrestricted motorcycle license and possess a valid credit card.

Q: What kind of hotels are included in self-drive tours?

A: The hotels are typically 3 star, motorcycle friendly hotels. These in the past have included Best Western, Holiday Inn, and Quality Inn & Suites. In some cities you can upgrade the hotel to a higher star property by paying a surcharge. Information regarding hotels will be provided closer to your departure date. A: Yes! Self-drive tours are fully customisable and fully tailored to your requirements. Please contact us for further information.

Guided Motorcycle Tours

Q: What is a guided tour and what is included?

A: A guided tour is a packaged tour which includes your bike rental, hotel accommodations and route suggestions. It is led by a professional, experienced and passionate tour guide who is the lead rider and a support van as the last vehicle of the group.

Q: What is the difference between a guided tour and self-drive tour?

A: Guided tours have a tour guide to help you on your adventure where a self-drive tour does not and you follow the itinerary and route suggested by EagleRider

Q: How many miles do you ride each day?

A: In a guided tour on an average riding day between 200-250 miles / 320 – 400km are travelled. Please refer to the relevant itinerary for further information.

Q: Are fuel and oil included on Guided Tours?

A: Yes, fuel and oil for your bike are included on all scheduled riding days. If you chose to go on a ride on a “rest day” the cost of fuel is not covered and is at your expense.

Q: How many people are in a tour group?

A: The typical group size of a EagleRider Guided Tour is 10 -15 bikes. This ensures the group has a good chance to bond and ride together as a unit.

Q: Do you require a certain level of experience to participate in a guided tour?

A: For your safety and comfort you should have a certain level of competency on riding a motorbike. You should be comfortable riding a motorcycle through a curve, on a interstate (freeway) and mountain passes. If you are concerned make use of the Pre-Tour Rental Package and spend a few days exploring your collection city and getting comfortable with the bike.

Q: What is a road trip and what is included?

A: A road trip tour is a option which includes your bike rental, hotel accommodations and route suggestions. It is not led by a guide but does include luggage transfer from hotel to hotel as well as a support vehicle. It is a group departure giving you the option to meet and travel with like-minded travellers.

Q: What is the difference between a guided tour,self-drive tour and road-trip?

A: Guided tours have a tour guide to help you on your adventure where a self-drive tour does not and you follow the itinerary and route suggested by EagleRider. A road trip provides the inclusions of a guided tour but without a tour guide and at a more budget friendly cost.

Q: How many miles do you ride each day?

A: In a guided tour on an average riding day between 200-250 miles / 320 – 400km are travelled. Please refer to the relevant itinerary for further information.

Q: How many people are in a tour group?

A: The typical group size of a Road Trip is up to 15 bikes. This ensures the group has a good chance to bond and ride together as a unit, but still the freedom to deviate when permitted.

Q: Do you require a certain level of experience to participate in a road trip?

A: For your safety and comfort you should have a certain level of competency on riding a motorbike. You should be comfortable riding a motorcycle through a curve, on an interstate (freeway) and mountain passes.
